These were really easy to put together and an easy way to ensure you can serve everyone at once. You can easily cut these larger to make full sized hamburgers.

Ingredients
2 pounds ground chuck (80/20 mixture so beef does not dry out)
1/4 cup onion, finely diced
seasoning salt, to taste
salt, to taste
ground pepper, to taste
6 slices cheddar cheese
12-24 dinner rolls

Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a medium bowl, mix together beef, onions, and desired seasonings.

Using at least a 13 x 9 pan (we used 15 x 10), pat the meat mixture to the desired thickeness. Bake 20-25 minutes, to your desired doneness. Pour off any excess grease and top with the cheese slices. Return to oven until cheese is melted.

Remove from oven. Cut into your desired size using a pizza cutter. We got about 18 from ours. Serve on dinner rolls.

I saw the Neelys make this on a recent episode of their TV show and decided that I needed to try it. It was a delicious, easy weeknight meal. The original recipe calls for both a red and green pepper, but I only had green so I added an onion. I also halved the recipe, but used the whole amount of veggies.

Ingredients
1 Tablespoon oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 pound lean ground beef
4 oz tomato sauce (from an 8 oz can)
1 1/2 Tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 Tablespoon Worcestershire
couple of dashes hot sauce (we’re wimps–you could use 1/2 teaspoon if you’re not)
hamburger buns or bread for serving

Directions
Heat oil in dutch oven or large skillet. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic and cook until tender. Add the meat to the pan and cook until browned. Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer until thickened. Serve on hamburger buns or bread.
